I just downloaded Actual Multiple Monitors 8.2 Beta 1 and the feature to collapse and expand the tiles to move windows and expand is nice, however there is no way to turn it off when it automatically applies itself. I find that in Google Chrome, it always sets itself to the collapsed mode, even if I don't have  a lot of tabs open. I don't like this because it requires two clicks just to move to the next monitor. There should be an option to force it to always be expanded.

Hello Jason,

Thanks for the post.

There is no way to disable the "Compact mode" option of title buttons for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox only.
We'll add possibility to disable the option for these browsers.

Best regards.

Hello Vasiliy,

Quote
We'll add possibility to disable the option for these browsers.

After having installed AWM 8.2 beta 1 today I immediately reverted to version 8.1.4, because of this. I use Firefox and the title buttons constantly, so this is an annoyance for me. I have changed Firefox's lay-out (a.o. tabs on bottom) and never have an issue with the title buttons.

Also, I think the option to disable (not just enable) compact mode should be present for any specific setting, because sometimes having the title buttons overlap the title could be useful.

Moreover, is there a global option to enable/disable compact mode? I have not found it. I think it could easily be implemented if the option to disable compact mode was also included under Default settings.

But foremost I want to thank you for working on this compact mode: I have submitted a feature request for this a long time ago and it will certainly take away lots of frustration (after the disable option is included and I am back on the beta trail again  ;)

And yes: I am trying to get back onto the forums  :!:  :)

Best regards.

Please make this an option.  It especially doesn't make sense for anyone using a horizontal tab addon.

Pim, Jeremy,

Thank you for keeping an eye on us! :)

We'll surely cancel the auto-adding the Compact Mode button in Chrome and Firefox (BTW, the option is already there in the default/specific settings but for now Chrome and Firefox do not react on its change).

Pim, glad to see you back again! :D

Beta 2 is finally out, the compact mode for Chrome and Firefox is fixed there.

Try it out! :)
