hi.

something i've just discovered when running actual window manager. When using in 3dsmax, if you open the material editor, close it, then open it again 3dsmax will crash every time. This doesn't happen if I launch actual window manager AFTER i have already opened the material editor. Maybe not that relevant for most of your users but thought you might like to know.

Dear Justin,

thank you for your post!

Please send us your configuration files (Actual Window Manager -> Tools -> Configuration -> Send to Tech Support) with a reference to this thread and specify the 3ds Max version.

Best regards.

Hello Justin,

The problem has been confirmed.
We’ll try to fix it.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find Autodesk 3ds Max 2014, but confirmed the problem with 3ds Autodesk Max 2015.
This problem has been solved by adding the exclusion rule (Actual Window Manager -> Window Settings -> Exclusions) for the Material Editor window.
Maybe this will solve the problem with Autodesk 3ds Max 2014 as well.

Please inform us about your results.

Best regards.

Hi! Same problem! I use only Actual File Folder and there is no exclusions rules in it. How to be?

Hello, init0!

Thank you for your post.

Please do the following:
  • start Actual File Folders;
  • right-click its tray icon;
  • select Show log window;
  • in the log window mark the Enable logging checkbox;
  • start 3ds Max and open the conflicting window (Material Editor, right?);
  • open Actual File Folders -> Tools -> Configuration, click the Send to Tech Support button and send us your configuration files with a reference to this thread.

We will try to apply the above mentioned workaround for you so that you could use File Folders and 3ds Max until the issue is fixed.

Best regards!

Try to update your copy of Actual File Folders to the just released version 1.2.1 - the required exclusion for the Material Editor window is added there by default.
