 I'm now thinking the problem is with either Win 7 or my computer environment. I uninstalled WMM & the behavior persists.

 I uninstalled AIM & still have the issue. It occurs every other time I log in to Win 7 when locally or remotely.

 Hello Larry.

I just wanted you to check, whether this issue is associated with profiles itself or with the changes in your system settings (e.g. monitors layout) that caused by activation of profile. Remember the main things that was affected by your home profile (disabling the secondary monitor for example) and change it manually (disable the secondary via Windows standard settings) when you will work remotely. And check whether the problem still persists.
