Michael,

We've finally reproduced the issue. Now we are trying to find out which part of our products causes it.

What video card is installed in your computer, and what version of video drivers do you use?

I run a "ATI Radeon 3850" with ATI Catalyst 10.6 Driver.

I am so glad to hear you were able to reproduce the issue.:)

My other specs are

Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 2.66 GHz
4GB DDR 2 Memory
ATI Radeon 3850
Tons of Hard drive space 7200RPM.

Michael, zegames zegames,

We've tried to fix the DWM problem in just released beta 2.

Could you please download it from here and check if the bug is fixed or not?

Installed Beta 2 and after loading up a lot of software and tabs in IE8 the bug happend again :(

So Beta 2 did not fix it.

The issue seems to be that Actual Window Manager is messing up DWM which then causes the desktop to go crazy.

I was able took take a screenshot of what just happend to my desktop. It even took my bottom taskbar and moved it to the top of my screen. As you can see this is one nasty bug! :(

Michael,

When have you downloaded the beta 2?
If it was on July 25, please re-download the beta.

See, we've fixed a resource exhaustion on July 26, and renewed the installer on the site.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes I downloaded it on July 25 around 5PM.

I will now redownload Beta 2 again today. And let you know the results.

I hope this new Beta 2 will fix it :)

Ok I have been running my computer to the max with Actual Window Manager 6.2 Beta 2 one from July 26 and so far so good :) I have yet to see my desktop get all messed up!

I will continue testing this with my computer running lots of open programs and IE8 tabs for the next 24 hours or so.

I will report back my results with hopfully more good news.

Ok after running Actual Window Manager 6.2 Beta 2 for a while now I think this issue "may" be fixed!

I had a lot of running software and lots of IE8 Tabs and windows open all at the sametime. And I was not seeing the desktop get all messed up with Aero turning off like it did before.

However with so many software and IE windows and tabs running I opened one more thing "Windows Media Center" and after opening that maybe like 3 minutes later Aero turned off and was getting out of memory messages.

But I don't think Actual Window Manager 6.2 Beta 2 caused this to happen this time around. I think Aero got turned off and the low memory messages because I just had so many things running at one time and I ran out of memeory. I have 4GB of total memory in my computer.

The reason I think this may be fixed now is because I was able to run a lot more things at the sametime for a much longer period of time compared with the last Actual Window Manager 6.2 Beta 2 released on July 25. Also this time around when Aero turned off nothing else really got messed up like before with missing icons and black screen and the painting issue.

I will keep an eye on this but I think by you fixing a "resource exhaustion" may have indeed fixed it :)

I will be sure to let you know if and when I see this bug show it's ugly head again. Hopfully it wont!

Thanks for all your help!
Michael
