when i attempt get application error everytime and backround goes blank after hitting ok which requires a restart of computer.

Problem is not fixed, no errors this time but now get a phantom window appear everytime do a restore... see picture attached.

I was unable to reproduce the issue.
What OS are you running (name, 32 or 64-bit)?
Does the restore function work properly?
Do these phantom windows appear out of nowhere? Does it depend on whether there are open windows in your system?
