Folks,

I've just installed a quad HD monitor, a Dell UP2414Q, a Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 video card and Windows 8.1, which supports high DPI monitors with sensible scaling.

I have the system set for the native screen resolution of 3640x2160.  Many applications, such as Firefox, support high DPI monitors directly and tell Windows not to scale any objects in their windows.

In the attached screenshot, note that the taskbar buttons on the firefox window are nearly too small to see, at a quarter of their normal size, whilst the taskbar buttons in the AIM options window are sized properly as Windows 8.1 did it for your application.  So, then, what's necessary is awareness of Windows 8.1 desktop scaling to this extreme 4x extent (which will soon become normal; I give it just another year or two) and, when it is detected that Windows 8.1 is not performing up-scaling for a given application that AIM should up-scale its title bar buttons.

Regards,
Jeff Broido

I am also seeing this problem on my 4K monitors. Is there any news when this is going to be fixed?

Hello, David

Hello  Bogdan,

this is not so good because as you know, quite a large portion of your customer base is using not only multiple but also high-resolution monitors.

Hope to see progress on this soon,
Cheers
David
