Guys...
please... when will you finally deliver us from these ugly, old XP buttons?
I mean... c'mon, we're in 2018. It should not be that big deal to replace them.
Compare the original Windows 10 taskbar with the AWM bar.
You know what I mean.

Because AWM can have more buttons, these necessarily must be much smaller! Please do not change them. They are not ugly, but very practical.
With the big (ugly) buttons of Windows 10, there would be less room for the text in the title bar of the taskbar previews.
The top priority must be to reduce the performance impact (especially with multi-core systems) and fixing issues. The next priority should be to integrate new features (e.g. triggers for closing and starting processes/applications). At the moment I have to use "Shutter" (den4b.com) to trigger actions when a specified window is closed. Another multi-monitor tool has already integrated this feature:

We'll try to make a more modern look of taskbar preview thumbnails and inform you about our results.
