i have transparent window v4.5 installed on my vista business samsung q1p umpc.  when i first installed it, i was able to make the tablet input panel (aka the tip) transparent.  however, if i reboot my umpc, the tip is no longer transparent.  i have stopped and started the service, recreated the specific settings for the tip, but the only thing that can make it transparent again is to uninstall transparent window, delete the left over folder, then reinstall.

Victor,

Please clarify what values (window class, program, caption) do you use in the Target Window Pane when creating specific settings for the tablet input panel.

The next time when the "tip" becomes non-transparent, open the Control Center  (right-click ATW's icon in the tray) and choose Stop/Start menu item, instead of uninstalling ATW.

michael, the settings for the tip are the same ones that ship with your product. stopping/starting from the menu does not bring transparency back to the tip.

i would love to purchase this product, but if i have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling it, then it's a deal breaker.  is there anything else i can try before giving up?

Victor,

After installing ATW, please check this option - it should be enabled to run ATW automatically after reboot.

Also it may help to turn on the logging and see which settings are applied to TIP.

i reinstalled on my umpc and i'm still having a problem with actual transparent window on just the tip.  transparent window loads up fine for all other windows, except for the tip.

Dear Victor,

We reproduced this situation on our test machine.

To solve this problem you need run Actual Transparent Window as administrator, because a tip is system application.
For this you need disable a function “Load at startup” (Configuration->Actions->Options->General), create a shortcut for ActualTransparentWindow.exe, right-click on this shortcut then choose Properties-> Shortcut->Advanced and able option “Run as administrator”.

Then always after start system you need double-click to this shortcut to run ATW.
