Hello,

when installing three monitors the sortnumber of the monitors are laid down by system. In awm-presets (v8.12.1) "multimonitors/layout" I moved the monitor-icons to their real positions. The sortorder is 2-1-3. The primary monitor is nr. 1. Then I set the virtual desktops. Three vds on monitor 1 and 2 and two vds on monitor 3. The settings (number of vds and backgroundcolour) for monitor 1 are ok. But the settings for monitor 2 are taking place on monitor 3 and vice versa. The vd-options modus for all monitors is independent.
System: win 10 64
What´s to do to solve the problem?

Best regards
Harald

Hello, Harald

Is the numbering of the monitors in the Windows "Screen resolution" settings the same as in AWM settings?

What monitors do you use and what interfaces you use to connect them to the computer (DVI, HDMI etc.)?

Do you mean, the background settings are also mixed up between monitors 2 and 3.

Could you send us your AWM configuration files via the Send to Tech Support tool when all three monitors are connected and virtual desktops feature is enabled and has the settings you've described (AWM configuration module > Tools > Configuration > Send to Tech Support). Change the "To..." email address to uninstall@actualtools.com in the email.

Best regards.

Hello, Bogdan

The numbering in win settings and awm is the same.

The monitors are connected to a nvidia geforce gtx 1050 ti.
Mon 2: Medion MD20434, DVI
Mon 1: Medion MD20999, HDMI
Mon 3: Panasonic TV, Displayport

The mixed settings are:
- the number of vds
- the names of the vds
- the backgroundcolours (wallpaper not tested)

Configuration file is sent.

Best regards

Harald,

Did this problem appear in the version 8.12.1 or it persisted in the previous versions of AWM? Can you recall at what exactly moment the problem appeared and if it was associated with some changes in your system/monitors?

Are you talking about the Background settings (AWM configuration module > Multiple Monitors > Background) or about the Virtual Desktops wallpaper settings?

Best regards.

Bogdan,

I have recognized this problem approximate 10 or 14 days ago and in that time I´ve updated AWM to v8.12.1. In the last 6 weeks I didn´t do updates or changes neither on system nor in monitor environment. The last windows update was installed on 10. april 2018.

The "backgroundcolour" relate to VD-wallpaper settings.

Best regards

Harald,

Could you see whether the background settings (AWM configuration module > Multiple Monitors > Background) are applied correctly to all monitors?

Best regards.

Bogdan,

I have deactivated virtual desktops and change the backgroundcolour of all monitors in AWM configuration module > Multiple Monitors > Background. All colours are applied correctly to all monitors.
Addition: The number of virtual desktop switchers is mixed, too.

Best regards

Harald,

Have you tried to set different solid colors for each monitor? Could you do this and tell us the results?

Best regards.

Bogdan,

I have set different solid colors to every each monitor.
Mon 1 fr om grey to green
Mon 2 from grey to blue and
Mon 3 from grey to red.
The colors were applied to that monitor wh ere I´ve changed the settting. That is the expected behaviour.

In the last version of awm the problem wasn´t present. To see if the problem disappear I want to downgrade awm to v8.11. What´s to do to downgrade without loosing the actual settings?

Best regards

Just install the 8.11 version. The settings will stay the same.

Best regards.
