Hi there. Similar to what happened with UltraEdit, AWM 8.10.2 causes the Slack 2.5.2 desktop app on Windows 10 (64 bit) to have huge CPU usage.

Unlike with UltraEdit, I have Slack open all the time, and so am unable to use AWM at all.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Bill

Hello, Bill

I was unable to reproduce the issue with high CPU usage by Slack application - for me the usage of CPU by Slack doesn't exceed 2% if i don't move the window.

Could you clarify, what is the value of the CPU usage by Slack when AWM is launched?

Could you also send us your configuration files using the Send to Tech Support tool (Configuration module > Tools > Configuration > Send to Tech Support)? Please add a link to this topic to the email.

Best regards.

Hi Bogdan. As soon as you responded, I'm seeing that the problem is intermittent. :(  When it does happen, Slack consumes 20-40% of a Core m7 on a Dell Latitude 7370.

I have sent the config files, and will work on trying to narrow down the steps to reproduce. I'll update this thread as I make progress.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bogdan. I uninstalled Slack, updated Google Chrome to the latest version (our admins had disabled automatic updates), then reinstalled Slack. The problem seems to have gone away.

Sorry to have bothered you.

Thanks,
Bill
