The taskbar is missing on the secondary monitor. I realize other users are experiencing, basically the same thing. I decided to post to a new thread.

Version History
7.3.0 was working
7.4.0 was working
7.4.1 was working
7.4.2 now broken

With the 7.4.1 and below, you could right click on the secondary taskbar and could hide and unhide with no problems.

With 7.4.2, clicking on the secondary taskbar and selecting the unhide no longer works. The only way to get it back is double click on the AWM icon and select the Multiple Monitors, Taskbar and click on the Unhide taskbars.

No other software was installed between 7.4.1 and 7.4.2. Just rebooted because of XP.

OS: Windows XP SP3 x32

Thanks,
Rich

Hello Rick

Were there some error messages or did the Windows explorer crash right before the problem appeared (when you launched 7.4.2 for the first time)?

Was the Replace the primary taskbar enabled when the problem appeared?

Best regards.

Bogdan,

There were no error messages and no IE crashes during the first run of 7.4.2 or later.
The replace the primary taskbar has never been enabled at any time.

1. Right click the secondary taskbar and select Hide taskbar. The taskbar disappears.
(verify: Right click the AWM icon, scroll to Taskbars and the Taskbar on Monitor 2 is unchecked.)

2. To renable, right click the AWM icon, scroll to Taskbars and select/toggle the Taskbar on Monitor 2.
(verify: Perfoming the step above, #2, the Taskbar on Monitor 2 is now checked but the taskbar is still actually hidden.) With 7.4.1 and lower, as above, the secondary taskbar would be visible.

To get the taskbar back with 7.4.2, double click on the AWM icon and select the Multiple Monitors, Taskbar and click on the Unhide taskbars.

------

Additional info that might help.

I use Bootit BM to boot multiple Window installations on the same machine. I have, basically the same issue with Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64. The main difference, after the Window 7 boots, there is no secondary taskbar at all. Double click on the AWM icon and select the Multiple Monitors, Taskbar and click on the Unhide taskbars to show the secondary taskbar.

When downgrading Windows 7 with the 7.4.1 AWM, the problem is resolved. I have not tried to downgrade the XP SP3 installation to see if it fixes the problem as well.

As with XP SP3, with Windows 7 x64, there were no error messages or IE crashes and the replace the primary taskbar was not enabled.

Hope this helps,
Rich

Are you running Bootit BM on both your systems?

Send us your configuration files using the Send to Tech Support tool.

Best regards.

Hi. Since upgrading to version 7.4.2 the Secondary Taskbar on my second monitor hasn't been appearing unless I open AWM and click 'Unhide taskbars'. This hasn't been an issue previously.

I've never had 'Replace the primary Taskbar' selected. I'm using 'Mirror' with 'Enable pinning to the taskbar' and 'Show the Start menu for hidden button'.

Hello Chris

Does taskbar appear when you bring the Start Menu on the secondary monitor? When you make some changes in the taskbar settings via the Configuration Window?

Best regards.

Hi.

The taskbar does not appear when I use the Start Menu button on the secondary monitor, however the taskbar will appear if I make a change in the Configuration Window.

I can also confirm that the latest version of AWM (7.4.3) has also solved this issue. Thanks for the good support.
