After upgrading Actual Window Manager to the latest 7.4.1, the Ribbon interface in Windows 7 x64 locks up after moving from Backstage view (File tab) back to the working view.

Working pane in applications still functions, as do "legacy" keyboard accelerators (CTRL+C, ALT+F4, etc...). Sequential FLUENT accelerators (ALT --> H --> FC --> A) do not function.

Using ALT+F4 to terminate the application closes the visible window, but the process is still active in Task Manager.

Uninstalling AWM returns normal functionality. Would like to see if anyone else has observed the same behavior (quick forum search came up null), and if there's a workaround, or, preferably, a bugfix in the works.

Hello Ray.

What applications using the Ribbon interface have you noticed the problem with?

I was unable to reproduce the issue with Microsoft Word 2010.

Send us the configuration files using the Send to Tech Support tool.

Best regards.

Hello, Bogdan.
I experienced the issue with all of the MS Office 2010 applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Visio, Project, Access, Onenote, Publisher). I also saw identical behavior with AutoCAD LT 2010. Transition from the backstage view of the ribbon to the working view locked the ribbon, but the application workspace was still available. Workarounds were to stop/unload AWM, or to uninstall the application.

Configuration files were sent at 0850 EDT on 29JAN13. Please do let me know if these do not come through.

Regards.
Ray

We haven't received your email.

Could you send it again?

Best regards.

Hi, Bogdan. Hitting the "Send to Tech Support" button under Tools -> Configuration in AWMConfig does nothing. More specifically, I see the on and off mouseover animation events. On click, the button hangs for a second or two, then returns to it's "rest" state. There are no error codes presented, and no further action from the application. Nothing is logged as a Windows Application or System event.

Any other way to get this configuration to you, or to debug why the built-in script is non-functional?

Bogdan -
Have not heard anything since 30JAN. I saw a new version of AWM available today, installed, and the Configuration Files button now works. Files were sent at 7:39AM EDT. Let's please continue this discussion.

Hello Ray,

Thanks for the message.

Could you upgrade Actual Window Manager to the cuurent version (download link - http://actualtools.com/files/aimsetup.exe ) and try to send configuration files again (Actual Window Manager -> Tools -> Configuration -> Send to Tech Support)?

Best regards.

Vasiliy -
Current installed version is 7.4.3, which, I believe, is the most current release. Files sent again at 7:48AM EDT.

Do you mean when you hit Alt then nothing happens?

Best regards.

Bogdan -
Yes, that is correct. After going to the File tab and back to any other tab in the Ribbon, there is no further response to mouse events or keyboard accelerators (i.e., hitting ALT does not bring up the text for the sequential shortcuts).
