have a folder on desktop.
supposed to roll up and go transparent when DEACTIVATED (when mouse leaves it and when I click on the desktop or some other folder

I ROLL OVER it, it unrolls, and shows me folders;
but if I click on a folder inside IT, it goes to ZERO transparency (fully visible), and then when LEAVEING it it does NOT roll up and does NOT go transparent.

how to get this to behave nrmally?    Problem is intermittent, but DOES reproduce when clicking on subfolder inside this main folder

thans
Nick

SOLVED - I think (but NOT solved, see addendum)

I checked settings again.

Window title is used as selector, and it was checked as EXACT MATCH

I changed this to SUBSTRING match, and NOW it is working (will observe for a while)

It MAY be that the FULL path is shown in my address bar, and that may trigger NOT being an exact match (even though I am in the folder of "Desktop_D");  it sems to know to START ok, but then gets confused on subsequent actiond

anyway, will test this out

AEENDUM
NOT SOLVED
if path is
D:\Data_CURRENT\DeskTop_D\Finance
instead of
D:\Data_CURRENT\DeskTop_D

teh folder becomes permanent on desktop, and loses settings

HOW to get settings to apply even if open in SUBFOLDER?

thanks
Nick

Hello Nick,

Thanks for the post.

We know about this problem and we're trying to solve it.

As workaround:
You could use a shortcut for your folder (D:\Data_CURRENT\DeskTop_D) and rules will be applied correctly to the folder.

Best regards.

SOME NEW FEEDBACK

my settings are for "substring match".

it was not working.  Now it IS working, AFTER a REBOOT.
It is INTERMITTENT.

Something seems to be turning OFF the settings, but the ORIGINAL settings DO seem to actually work  initially.

I will keep experimenting

thanks for reply

Hello Nick,

The rules reapplies if window title changed less than five times (rules freeze).

That's why I advised you to use a shortcut for your folder.

We're investigating this issue.

Best regards.

thanks for reply.

i can live with its limitations for now.
but doesn't matter whether shortcut or not, in longer term

scenario

folder d:\Desktop-D, contains all my WORKING stuff, so I can keep desktop clean.
It has multiple SUBfolders also.

So, I keep this folder visible (or INvisible) on c:\...desktop, and my working stuf is visible ONLY when I need it.
BUT, I navigate through subfolders, etc, multip[le times, so that it does not take long for the title to change 5 times, because once the folder is open, either through shortcut or through main one, any time you access a subfolder it stil changes the title.

again, I can live wit this as you investigate it, and I DO appreciate your response.

thansk
NIck
