I have a HP EliteDesk running Windows 11 (although this problem also occurred when I was running Windows 10) with 32 GB of RAM. My computer randomly slows to a crawl, like the CPU and/or memory usage is at 100% but Task Manager, when it finally loads, does not anything of the sort and in fact looks perfectly normal. It's so bad that I have to reboot my PC. I have narrowed the problem down to Actual Windows Manager because when I reboot and exit AWM immediately after it loads, I do not have any issue whatsoever.
I just paid for the new version since my previous license expired in 2024. I had not been using it for quite some time, and in fact had uninstalled it. I just got a new 34" curved monitor and thought I'd try AWM again to help me position applications, etc., and paid the upgrade price. I'm kinda wishing I hadn't now since the performance problem is still happening.
Has anyone else ever had this experience? Any suggestions? I really want to use the program because when it's working well it's very helpful.
