Actual Window Manager 4.4 beta 2 is available!

Dear John Smith,

I'm glad to inform you that our Beta-Testing section is updated: we have released Actual Window Manager 4.4 beta 2. Here is a short list of changes and improvementes:

  • Cool-looking transparency transitions
If your PC is modern and fast then you can enjoy the smooth transitions of transparency from one level to another. Make your desktop an attractive eye candy!
  • Removing the standard window parts
Now you can fully control the appearance and behavior of your windows. If you want to fix any window on desktop then just remove its Minimize button - and nobody will be able to hide it! If you want to prevent window's closure - remove its Close button! To fix window's size, remove its sizeable border and, to fix window position, remove its caption. This feature is ideal for organizing the so-called 'kiosk mode' access to a corporate Intranet (by preventing the Web application's window from being accidentally closed or minimized), and it also allows to simply expand any window's visible area and use the available screen space more effectively.
  • Some important bugfixes
    - title buttons work correctly in Excel 2007
    - multiple instances of Excel 2003/2007 workbooks and Acrobat 7 documents can be correctly minimized to the system tray
    - Eudora isn't crashed at startup if its main window has some extra title buttons added
    - Mozilla applications (Firefox, Thunderbird) don't leave their taskbar entry if they were minimized to the system tray via the standard Minimize button

So we invite you to visit our Beta-Testing section and check all the changes, fixes and improvements of new beta yourself. Please post your bug reports and new feature suggestions to our Beta-Testing forum, all your posts will be necessarily answered and considered. Many thanks in advance for your help!

Sincerely,
Michael Tretyakov,
