I have no idea whether it would be possible to implement this feature, but see below an example of how it would be useful.

With specific setting*:

User added an image

No specific setting*:

User added an image

*The rule is:

Quote
-Target Window

Window class: #32770
Program: \taskmgr.exe

- Startup

Resize to any size, in example 590x600.

I can't create a new rule to the child window in example, because the title is same of main window.

I have similar issue to several programs.

Not really a big problem for me, I'm just curious to know if ignore child window can be implemented.

Hello,

It is possible to add an additional criterion in the Window Rules to specify which types of windows (top-level window, dialogs etc) a Rule should be applied to.

Such a criterion would surely help with Task Manager.
Could you please specify in what other programs this new criterion would be useful?

I am not sure that word correct would be "useful", but you must agree that degrades the visual of programs, right?

It is difficult to a list of programs here, as any program with child window is affected. An option to apply resizing rule only to "top-level window", it would be perfect.

I hope that you find a solution for it.

bye
