Hello,

Whenever i open AWM, it just stays open for about 3 seconds and then shuts down. I am using windows 10 and wondering if this has something to do with the new multi monitor support in win 10, or something else altogether? I am using version 8.5 and the problem appears after upgrade and via direct download of version 8.5. Assistance required please.

Thank you.

Hello Stephen,

Thanks for the post.

Are you able to open the Configuration window of Actual Window Manager (ActualWindowManagerConfig.exe file from AWM's installation folder)? If yes, please send us your configuration files (Actual Window Manager -> Tools -> Configuration -> Send to Tech Support). If not, please send us (support@actualtools.com) the Actual Tools folder from the %AppData% directory.

Hello,

No, I cannot get any files to open. Windows shuts them down immediately after loading. I have tried the comparability feature of win 10 as far back as vista SP2 with no luck either. Files are in the email...

Hello Stephen,

Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce the problem.

Please try the following steps:
1. Delete the Actual Tools folder from the %AppData% directory;
2. Uninstall Actual Window Manager;
3. Download Actual Window Manager from our site at http://actualtools.com/files/aimsetup.exe and install it.

Stephen,

Please specify your antivirus system/systems (name, version) and check whether the problem persists if you temporary unload antivirus systems (including Windows Defender) or not.

Hello,

Turned all security off, but no difference. I am using:

Trend Micro Internet Security Version: 10.0.1150 - USPD267004.3461

SuperAntiSpyware Professional Version 6.0.1024

Both programs are right up to date.

I will try an earlier version of AWM and see how that goes.

Hello Stephen,

Even a turned off antivirus system can block applications. Could you try to add the whole installation folder of Actual Window Manager (located in Program Files by default) to the exclusions list of Trend Micro Internet Security and check whether it helps or not?

Done, and rolled back to 8.4. Solution did not change anything.
