AWM 8.1.3
Windows 8.1 Pro x64

Before updating AWM to 8.1.3, the prior version of AWM (was it 8.1.2? I can't remember) had already stopped working properly with Total Uninstall. The main window of Total Uninstall no longer worked with AWM, but some other windows and dialogs did. With AWM 8.1.3, Total Uninstall doesn't work with AWM at all.

I also use Microsoft EMET 4.1, which worked fine with AWM before updating to 8.1.3. Now, like Total Uninstall, it doesn't work at all with AWM.

Please advise.

Hello Scott,

Thanks for the post.

Could you specify your version of Total Uninstall?

Could you also clarify what mentioned "doesn't work with AWM" means? Do you have some problems with running these applications while Actual Window Manager is loaded? Or are you unable to use AWM's features with these applications?

Best regards.

Sorry, I really should have included that info.

I'm using Total Uninstall 6.4.0, which is the latest as I write this.

By "doesn't work with AWM", I mean that when using these applications, none of AWM's features work. For example, the AWM title bar buttons don't appear, and window moving/sizing does not work. I have AWM configured to send a keystroke to a certain Total Uninstall dialog, but that doesn't work either.

Same problem with Defraggler 2.17.898 and CCleaner 4.11.4619. AWM 8.1.3 buttons do not appear in the title bar, right clicking the title bar shows no AWM settings, etc.

When using these applications, it is as if I do not have AWM installed at all.

I do not have exclusions for these applications.

I keep finding more and more applications that used to work with AWM, but now do not (as described above). I will not keep listing them unless requested, because there is probably one root cause.

Restarting AWM sometimes makes these applications work again, apparently. I don't get it. This is frustrating.

Total Uninstall, CCleaner and Defraggler all seem to be handled correctly here, by AWM 8.1.3.

And if you right click the TU title bar, you get the full list of AWM options? For me, I get AWM title bar buttons in the TU title bar, but the right click title bar menu in TU is devoid of AWM modifications.

Are you also running Win8.1 Pro x64?

The other applications seem to be working normally after having restarted AWM.

I updated to AWM 8.2 beta 2 because the Alt+Tab issue was bothering me so much. Now, this problem (particularly with Total Uninstall) is in full force. I cannot get AWM to work with Total Uninstall at all.

I'm using Total Uninstall 6.4.1. When using Total Uninstall, it is as if AWM is not installed at all--there are no AWM entries in the title bar context menu, now there are no AWM title bar buttons in the TU window, TU dialogs are not handled, the TU window will not resize per my AWM settings, etc.

I do not have any exclusion that applies to Total Uninstall, so that is not the problem.

Dear Scott,

the issue with Total Uninstall has been confirmed. We will investigate and try to fix it.

Thank you for your report!
Best regards.
