Play on One Monitor, Surf on Another

While you are playing full-screen on one monitor, usually you can't do anything on others: best-case scenario is that the game pauses while you're trying to activate a new window on another screen. Worse case scenario: the game auto-hides.

Actual Multiple Monitors has a feature that forces the game to ignore its deactivation and remain active and operative while you are working with other windows. Thus, you can chat with your friends, surf the web for game hints/solutions, and learn game tactics on a spare monitor, without interrupting gameplay.

How to Force the Game to Ignore its Deactivation

  1. Download, install and run Actual Multiple Monitors.
  2. Run the desired game.
  3. Press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-I.
  4. (Optional) Press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-I again to cancel the Ignore Deactivation mode (make sure the game is active before pressing the hotkey).

Restrict the Mouse within the Game Window

Playing in a window has some advantages: you can easily switch to other windows, place the game window on any available monitor or quickly minimize it if such a need arises. However, some games, while running in a window, do not bind the mouse pointer by the game window's interior.

Actual Multiple Monitors has a feature that locks the mouse pointer within any given window. So, if the gameplay reacts by placing the mouse to the screen edge (like scrolling the map in strategy games), locking the mouse will assure that moving the mouse out of the window accidentally won't spoil your gameplay.

How to Lock the Mouse within the Game Window

  1. Download, install and run Actual Multiple Monitors.
  2. Run the desired game.
  3. Switch it to windowed mode.
  4. Make sure that the game window is the current active window.
  5. Press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-L.
  6. (Optional) Press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-L again to let the mouse pointer move freely.

Stretch the Game Window across All Monitors

Most games are only able to run in a window, not full-screen.

Actual Multiple Monitors has a feature that allows users to make any window span the entire visible area in a single click.

Note
Not any game may appropriately adjust its content to the dimensions of the expanded window - try it on your own with your favorite game.

How to Maximize a Game to Entire Desktop Area

  1. Download, install and run Actual Multiple Monitors.
  2. Run the desired game.
  3. Switch it to windowed mode.
  4. Make sure that the game window is the current active window.
  5. Press Win-Num*
    OR
Click the Maximize to Desktop title button Maximize Any Window over Entire Multi-monitor Desktop additional title button.
  6. (Optional) Repeat step 5 to restore the game window to its normal size.

Wrap the Desktop Edges for Easy Navigation

Extra-wide desktop (e.g. two or three widescreen monitors aligned horizontally) is a pain to navigate through: dragging the mouse from the leftmost to the rightmost monitor and back is tedious and distracting.

Actual Multiple Monitors has a feature that "wraps" the desktop edges in either horizontal, vertical, or both directions: when you try to move the mouse pointer beyond certain desktop edge, it doesn't stop on that edge but appears at the opposite edge instead.

How to Wrap the Desktop

  1. Download, install and run Actual Multiple Monitors.
  2. Right-click its icon in the notification area and select Configure.
  3. In the appeared Settings window click Mouse, and then click Multiple Monitors.
  4. Mark the Wrap the desktop check box and select the wrap mode: horizontally, vertically, or entirely.
  5. Click Apply.
