System specifications

i7-4790k, 16GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia Titan X Pascal, OS Drive-Mushkin 250GB SATA3 SSD, Storage Drive-3x1TB Samsung 850 Evo, Windows 10 Pro x64 Build 14393.321, Graphics drivers Nvidia 372.90

Monitors 3440x1440 21:9 monitor, 1920x1080 16:9 monitor

I play multiple games daily and while running Actual Window Manager 8.9 on my PC causes server system lag when closing any game that games the desktop resolution. For example, I play Counter Strike Global Offensive on my main 3440x1440 monitor at full screen 2560x1440. This causes Windows itself to push objects off to the side when readjusting the desktop. Both when I start the game and close the game Actual Window Manager causes system lag for several seconds. When I completely turn off AWM I no longer get system lag. I can not literally and physically play the game at full screen 3440x1440 because it is not supported(Being that it's competitive advantage that other players do not have). Any games that I run at any resolution besides my monitors native resolution all cause system lag generated by AWM.

Here is my Task List - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4784673/TaskList.txt

Edit: The lag may be caused by AWM having to redraw the taskbar after the application closes. Because it goes away once it's finished.

Edit: So, it's causing lag ANY time that the desktop is being redrawn because of like monitor position changes or resolution changes. Anything that effects the position of the desktop causes the lag in AWM.

Hello, Corwyn

How long does the lag usually last (in seconds)?

Could you try to temporarily disable the Actual Window Manager taskbars (Configuration module > Multiple Monitors > Taskbar section > "Multi-monitor taskbar" option) and see whether the lag still persists?

Best regards.

It lasts for about 5-10 seconds and it is immediately remedied by quitting the AWM application. Disabling Taskbars in AWM did not solve the issue. 5-10 may not be a long time, but when I'm alt-tabbing every few minutes from a game running at anything other than native resolution it starts adding up really fast.

Corwyn,

Could you try to change resolution of the monitor via the standard Windows "Screen resolution" settings while AWM is running and see whether the lag happens in this case?
