Apparently the dump file got stuck in my outbox. It appears to be too big for email.

Is there some other way to get it to you?

You can use one of the file hosting services (Dropbox, Google Drive for example) to upload the file and share it with us by providing a link to this file.

Timothy,

Could you close all application that you open after the start of Windows except Actual Window Manager and try to reproduce the issue. Let us know the results.

Could you also when the problem persists open the Task Manager and see the CPU Usage parameter value?

Bogdan,

Just did a test. I remembered to shut down everything but Outlook, shortened the time-out to 30 minutes and on arriving home from picking my daughter up from school. There was no failure.

One technical note. Apparently my n00bishness at Windows gave me a terminology problem. I don't believe the problem is with "sleep" it's with turning the monitors off after X minutes idle. Apparently my settings are to never sleep when plugged in, but to turn the monitors off after 60 minutes.

I'll keep this updated as I experiment more with what apps may be contributing to this problem. With the new evidence, I believe it may be Pidgin.

Definitely not Pidgin causing the problem. It still occurs when multiple apps are open and Pidgin is not.

I just did the CPU check you asked me about. CPU was at 31% so no high load whatsoever.

But apparently the problem is associated with one of the applications that you run. Could you start applications one by one and see what of them triggers the issue?

Still trying to nail this down. Another possible culprit is Skype for Business, but sadly I'm unable to come up with any conclusive proof.
