Hi

Using Actual Multiple Monitors, unregistered version

I'm trying this out for our office. We would like to mirror one particular application to a second monitor for our clients. However, whether I try configuring it as mirroring the window or part of the desktop, all I see on the second monitor is a white rectangle (of the right size) devoid of content. Is there some simpl set up I'm missing.

Windows 7, Dell 1707FP and Dell 2009W.

Do monitors have to be the same resolution/aspecrt ratio for instance?

Very much want this to work. We'd buy several.

Andrew, please send us your configuration files (Actual Multiple Monitors -> Tools -> Configuration -> Send to Tech Support) when your mirrors are set up with a reference to this thread.

Best regards!

I have exactly the same issue! Mirroring a single window works fine, but if I mirror part of the desktop or the whole monitor all I get is a white rectangle of the proper size. (Dell E6410/Win7)

Good day, Andrew, Javier, T Cherry!

We have found that in most cases this problem occurs as a consequence of certain video driver incompatibility. Could you please try to use Magnifier and check if it works fine. Then please let us know how it behaves on your PC.

Best regards!

Magnifier works.
My graphics card is an NVidia NVS3100 with the latest driver (340.66).

Dear T Cherry,

thank you for your reply!

We've fixed the issue and we expect that you won't have this problem in the upcoming version of our products (I mean the beta 7 or the 8.2 stable version). However, if the problem occurs in future, please contact us.

As for the current version - have you tried to toggle mirroring hardware acceleration? Does that change anything? Switching hardware acceleration might help, I suppose.

Best regards.

Hello!

Thanks, now it works with the new version of the program!
(I've tried to switch between hardware accelerated and not hardware accelerated in 8.1.4 but that did not help either.)

Two small improvement suggestions (or should I create a new thread?):
  • It would be a great usability improvement if there would be an easy way to resize the mirror window to the exact size of the currently mirrored content. (Even automatic resizing could be a feature.)
  • As the smallest, 0.1sec update interval is not really eating up the CPU, it might be a nice addition to support even smaller update intervals as well.

Dear T Cherry,

thank you for your post!

We will consider adding the resize feature.

The smallest mirror update interval is 0 sec.

Best regards!
